Voluntary assisted dying - approved training
The Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2017 (Vic) (‘the Act’) requires medical practitioners who choose to participate in voluntary assisted dying to complete this approved training.
The training consists an introduction and nine modules, which will introduce you to Victoria’s voluntary assisted dying legal framework and provides the core knowledge you need to participate in voluntary assisted dying.
To better understand your perceptions of the voluntary assisted dying framework and ensure that the training adequately meets your needs, you will be asked to evaluate the training.
The training was developed by Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in conjunction with the Department of Health Victoria.
Voluntary assisted dying - renewal module
The Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2017 (Vic) (the Act) requires medical practitioners who participate in voluntary assisted dying to complete approved training.
This renewal module has been designed as a refresher for medical practitioners who completed their training up to three years ago. Safer Care Victoria’s Credentialing and scope of practice for senior medical practitioners’ policy suggests it is best practice for training renewal to be undertaken every three years.The module includes information about your legal obligations under the Act, as well as information on support services available for participating practitioners.
